Mahindra University’s 4th Convocation: Anand Mahindra’s Keynote Address Inspires Graduates

Mahindra University recently held its 4th annual convocation ceremony, where Chairman of the Mahindra Group and Chancellor of the University, Anand Mahindra, delivered an inspiring keynote address to the graduating students. With a focus on shaping a better future, Mahindra urged the graduates to become citizens ‘Of’ and ‘For’ a better world.

• Dual Role of Citizens: Mahindra emphasized the importance of being both a citizen ‘Of’ a better world, which implies being a responsible model citizen today, and a citizen ‘For’ a better world, which involves working towards creating a better future for generations to come.
• Garden Analogy: He used the metaphor of a garden to illustrate the balance between preserving the present and innovating for the future. According to him, being a citizen ‘Of’ a better world means taking care of the garden today, while being a citizen ‘For’ a better world means planning and nurturing the garden of the future.
• Importance of Belief and Action: Quoting the Upanishads, Mahindra said, “Yad bhavah, tat bhavati – As you believe, so it becomes,” highlighting the significance of living by one’s values and taking action to shape the world around us ¹ ².

Convocation Details

• Degrees Conferred: A total of 943 students graduated from various programs, including B.Tech, MBA, LLB, MA, and Nanotechnology, along with 13 PhD scholars.
• Chief Guest: G V Prasad, Co-Chairman and Managing Director of Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, was the Chief Guest at the ceremony.
